This month, Kathy H. turned 80, and her family gathered at The Grandview of Chisholm Trail<\/a> to celebrate. The Fort Worth assisted living community co-hosted the get-together on Friday, June 12, bringing three generations of Kathy\u2019s family together alongside fellow residents and team members.<\/p>

This wonderful event highlights the importance of family involvement in assisted living care. As we reflect on Kathy\u2019s amazing life, we also want to encourage other families to take part in their senior loved one\u2019s moments, both big and small.<\/p>

A Look Back at Kathy\u2019s 80 Years<\/h2>

Photos from Kathy\u2019s life lined the walls of the activity room, prompting heartfelt stories over slices of cake. Kathy recalled the summers spent at her grandparents\u2019 farm in Zilwaukee, Michigan. As she played with the animals again, dodging the snakes drawn to her grandmother\u2019s clothesline, she pulled everyone into those laughter-filled summers with her.<\/p>

Later, she followed her mother\u2019s path and became a secretary at Ford Motor Company. There, she met her husband, Gary, and raised two daughters, Michelle and Barbara. She also spoke of working for her local church, and of her treasured family camping trips, where her daughters played and laughed, as she did at her grandmother\u2019s years ago.<\/p>

When asked what she was most grateful for in her life, she said it was her family and friends. \u201cCelebrating her 80th with three generations in the room,\u201d said Michela Francis, Community Relations Director of The Grandview of Chisholm Trail, \u201creminded all of us why these family connections matter so much.\u201d<\/p>
