The Grandview of Chisholm Trail, a Fort Worth senior living community, hosted a special Veterans Day celebration on Monday, November 11, to honor resident Helen C., a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. The event recognized her service during a time when few women were part of the military. The community also had members of the Marine Corps participating in the celebration.
Helen’s family was involved in the planning of this surprise event, which highlighted her military career and dedication. The celebration included a cake, decorations, live music from Vintage Jukebox, and participation from members of the Marine Corps.
“We could not think of a better way to say ‘thank you’ to Helen than by surprising her with the recognition she truly deserves,” said Maria Kennedy, Activities Director at The Grandview of Chisholm Trail. “Her story is amazing, and we were so excited to celebrate her in style.”
