Midweek Meetups Put Rescue Dogs in Spotlight with Wimberley Seniors

Weekly Love for Rescue Dogs | Alexis Pointe Senior Living
Alexis Pointe Senior Living welcomes adoptable dogs for joyful meetups that brighten residents’ days and create lasting connections.

Every dog has a weekly opportunity for love — particularly at Alexis Pointe Senior Living of Wimberley, where Wagsday Wednesday continues with help from their ongoing partnerships with Wimberley Adoption Group & Rescue (WAG) and Wimberley Valley Radio (KWVH). The retirement community, located south of Austin, Texas, offers independent and assisted living, as well as memory care.

Among the favorite four-legged visitors includes Kelvin, who was up for adoption through WAG. He stopped by to meet residents and explore the halls — making his rounds, and receiving plenty of attention.

Wagsday Wednesday is simple: bring an adoptable dog to meet new people and see what happens. Sometimes, it’s tail wags. Other times, conversation starters. But the goal? Loving on Wimberley’s displaced pets until they have a new forever home.

The unique collaboration caught the attention of local journalists, who published an article in The Wimberley View.

“We’re glad to keep this partnership going,” said Nycole Wohleking, Executive Director of Alexis Pointe Senior Living of Wimberley. “The dogs enjoy the visits, and so do we and our residents. It’s a good match all around.”
