Senior residents of Arabella of Kilgore, Carol and Frank M., experienced what we dub a Miracle Moment on April 6, 2023 at 2103 Chandler Street, Kilgore, TX, 75662.
The team at Arabella of Kilgore surprised the couple with an intimate candlelit lunch on the day of their 68th wedding anniversary. The tablecloth colors were light green, Carol’s favorite color, and accented with yellow roses, her favorite flower.
The meal, made by Arabella of Kilgore’s culinary department, was cheeseburgers and french fries, a recreation of their meal during their first date! Then, for dessert, they enjoyed bread pudding brought in from McKay’s Restaurant in Kilgore.
Frank dressed in a very special shirt reading “First Love Last Love” featuring photos of their wedding day and current. He surprised Carol when he came home on leave from the Navy with her name tattooed on his arm in the 1950s.
Knowing that Carol was his home base got Frank through his Navy service. The couple says they’ve grown together from eating one simple meal a day to now enjoying their time together at their Kilgore senior living community.
After the meal, the couple performed a beautiful vow renewal ceremony in the community’s sunroom. KETK even visited and captured the wonderful day.
