Cultural Activities for Seniors Make Miracle Moments

Table of Contents

At StoneCreek of Copperfield, we believe in celebrating each resident’s unique stories and passions. Our team provides more than senior care for older adults. We create joyous moments that resonate with the personal tales and interests of those we are privileged to serve. We call these events Miracle Moments.

One such heartwarming story unfolded recently when we decided to honor Ms. Frances for Mardi Gras. We took a personalized approach to engage and honor her lifestyle.

Frances has a profound connection to New Orleans culture, with its vibrant city life, world-famous Orleans jazz, and Fat Tuesday celebrations. She inspired us to bring her a slice of New Orleans, Louisiana at StoneCreek of Copperfield in Houston, TX.

We Treated Frances Like a Queen

The Crescent City is known for its rich cultural activities for seniors and individuals of all ages. This event for Frances featured a feast of favorite dishes, like the iconic red beans and rice.

The community was also adorned with Mardi Gras decorations to capture the city’s festive spirit. We even organized a special crowning ceremony in her honor. It made her feel like the queen of New Orleans!

“Ms. Frances is all things New Orleans,” says Kaylah Burnette, Activities Director at StoneCreek of Copperfield. “We wanted to create a memorable and joyous experience for her, and we believe this Mardi Gras celebration did just that.”

This celebration stands as a testament to the power of diverse cultural activities. They can be woven into the fabric of senior living communities to create meaningful, personalized experiences.

Hosting a Mardi Gras party in a senior living community is not unusual. Making this day about one resident with a deep connection and love for the culture turned this into a Miracle Moment. It benefited Frances, our other StoneCreek of Copperfield residents, and our caregivers.
