StoneCreek of Flying Horse in Colorado Springs was excited to host a Western-themed 100th birthday for resident Mary.

Born in New Mexico and raised on a ranch, Mary’s roots in the Western lifestyle run deep. Her childhood was spent working alongside her father, tending to the ranch’s needs from a young age, an experience that shaped her into the extraordinary person she is today.

In honor of Mary’s upbringing and love for the Western way of life, StoneCreek of Flying Horse hosted a Western-themed birthday celebration, complete with a live musician playing some “old-time country” tunes. The event was held on a Friday afternoon in April 2024 at StoneCreek of Flying Horse.

The celebration was an afternoon filled with shared stories and cherished memories. Attendees expressed their well wishes to Mary and celebrated her remarkable journey over the past century.

“Mary is a charismatic, active, and valued community member. She is loved by staff and residents alike, who often seek her opinions and counsel,” said Valerie Perryman, Executive Director. “We were incredibly honored to celebrate Mary’s 100th birthday here at StoneCreek of Flying Horse!”
