At StoneCreek of Littleton, memories don’t just live in photo albums — they arrive in person, carried lovingly in tote bags and tucked under arms, waiting to be shared.
One by one, residents gather for “Remember & Reminisce,” a storytelling circle where the past takes center stage, brought to life through keepsakes as unique as the people holding them.
The routine gathering includes personal items like photos, crafts, heirlooms, even skunk caps — and share the stories behind them.
Barb B. brought in her own hand-painted copy of a Van Gogh piece. Karen H. showed off a painting of a frozen lake from her hometown, one she used to ice skate on as a kid. Dixie D. came in with a framed certificate confirming she once flew on the Concorde, back when supersonic air travel was still an option.
Over the months, items have ranged from handmade dominoes from Japan to miniature furniture, wedding photos, and caps you don’t often see outside old western films.
For seniors, moments like these — shared laughter, swapped stories, and the warmth of being truly seen — carry a deep and lasting meaning.
“No two sessions are ever the same,” said Susan Williams, Activity Director. “Someone might bring a photo that leads to a conversation about world travel. Another person might share a handmade object from decades ago. There’s always something unexpected.”
