Forget the long drive and parking hassles; residents at The Hamptons of Tyler are shopping fresh just steps from their front doors! Following a successful debut event, the senior living community continued hosting its monthly Farmers Market this summer.
Residents browsed between tables of sourdough bread, local honey, farm-fresh eggs, baked and canned goods, and hand-painted watercolor prints. The Hamptons team organized the market, bringing seniors and local vendors together in an accessible setting.
Local vendors included Texas Peg’s Denim, Abby’s Munchalotl Nuts, G&S Pantry, Steed’s Texas Sweets & Treats, and Stidham Farm Eggs, among others.
“We went to the last one, and I was really blown away by the quality of fruits and vegetables,” a resident told KLTV during a live interview.
The market boasts around 20 vendors each month, and is open to residents, their families, and the wider Tyler community. A rotating selection of fresh produce, meats, crafts, and other local items are available to the many seniors who continue to pursue their passion for cooking in retirement.
“We are so happy with the convenience and connection this market brings,” said Rob Jones, Executive Director of The Hamptons of Tyler. “It’s a great way to support local vendors while bringing our community together in a meaningful way.”
