Arabella of Athens Team Member Shares A Lifetime of Service to Seniors

Table of Contents

Bre Holcomb has lived most of her life connecting with older adults in senior living communities. As a small girl, she ran the hallways, volunteering for activities in the summer and on weekends in the retirement home her mother managed. Bre fell in love with the stories the residents told her and the wisdom they generously shared.

“They truly became family,” she said.

Bre Holcomb shares one of the highlights of her career was working at Arabella of Athens while her grandparents lived there.

Now an adult herself, Bre Holcomb is in her 10th year at Arabella of Athens. She began as a high schooler, working as a weekend receptionist. Promotion after promotion – and she’s practically running the place!

Bre currently works at Arabella of Athens as the Business Office Manager and Community Relations Director. She says one of her greatest privileges was working with both of her grandparents while they were residents there.

In 2024, Bre helped Arabella of Athens achieve an impressive average monthly census of 98.6%, maintaining near full occupancy and ensuring that the community’s seniors continue to receive high-quality care.

Her growth is continuing – she is currently participating in the Leadership Athens program, offered through the Athens Chamber of Commerce. The prestigious opportunity will allow Bre to develop her leadership skills further and deepen her involvement in the local area.

Additional accolades include the Athens Chamber of Commerce Chairman Award in 2024, Administrative Assistant of the Year in 2020, and the President’s Award in 2021, 2022, and 2024. Bre became a Certified Director of Assisted Living in 2022 after completing the Executive Director in Training (EDIT) program, further demonstrating her commitment to professional development. Under her leadership, the community achieved the highest average daily occupancy across the entire company in both 2023 and 2024. Community manager Civitas Senior Living recognized Arabella of Athens as Community of the Year in 2019 and 2024.

“Bre is one of those rare people who makes everything seem effortless – except it’s not,” says Pam Holcomb, Executive Director of Arabella of Athens. “Her dedication to our residents and team members has been key to our success, and we’re beyond excited that she’s embarking on this next chapter in her leadership journey. She truly deserves all the accolades and recognition she’s getting.”
