Ledgestone Senior Living is bringing generations together through creativity thanks to a new partnership with the Dripping Springs Art League (DSAL). The collaboration kicked off in June 2025 with the Kindness Rock Painting Project — a free, family-friendly event open to kids, teens, parents, and grandparents.

The unique, intergenerational activity was the official preview of Art Across the Ages. In the fall, families will attend monthly weekend workshops at Ledgestone, where participants will range in age from 5 to 95, and explore a variety of artistic mediums including acrylics, watercolors, and collages. Local artist Linda Moon will lead the experience.
CBS Austin covered the first gathering, which was a heartfelt way to brighten the day of Ledgestone’s residents in memory care. Each hand-painted kindness rock will find a home in the senior living community’s new Butterfly Memory Care Garden. The special outdoor space is designed to encourage reflection and comfort.
“There’s something powerful about putting a paintbrush in someone’s hand, no matter the age,” said Katy Starr, Community Relations Director at Ledgestone. “Creative expression opens the door to connection, and when generations come together in that space, it uplifts everyone.”
