Everything’s bigger in Texas, as Linda D. is about to find out – and that includes a grand “homecoming”. The Ridglea Senior Living welcomed its newest resident in a spectacular fashion.
Linda, who moved from Southern California, relocated to Fort Worth to be on standby for the arrival of her first grandchild. Her son and daughter-in-law just made the move to Texas, and she chose to join them. After touring the senior living community, Spencer D. said the decision felt right. “We just loved the feel of the community as soon as we walked in. The activities are amazing, and Mom is just absolutely thriving here.”
After settling, Linda was welcomed with a Coastal Cowgirl-themed party planned by The Ridglea. Western boots meet West Coast touches in a nod to both where she came from and where she is now.
The gathering included a heartwarming surprise: a video message recorded by residents and staff from Linda’s former community in California. During one of their own social events, they paused to send greetings across the miles. Her out-of-town family, who visited for the occasion, watched the video with her for the first time.
“This isn’t just about moving. It’s about helping someone carry parts of their past into the next chapter,” said Stephanie Williams, Executive Director of The Ridglea Senior Living. “It means something when familiar faces and new ones can meet in the same moment — even virtually.”
