When residents at Legacy Oaks of Azle return from a weekend away, many of them look for Becky Guereca first. “I missed you,” they tell her; a simple phrase that has become a meaningful reflection of the relationships she has built as Memory Care Director.

Becky was recently named the Memory Care Coordinator of the Year at Civitas Senior Living’s 2025 Annual Conference, an honor that recognizes her dedication to resident-centered care and her consistent presence in daily life at Legacy Oaks. With nearly three years at the community, Becky has shaped her role around meaningful interactions — from activities and outings to quiet conversations that allow residents to share their stories.
Her leadership began as a caregiver and medication aide, giving her firsthand insight into attentiveness and trust. That experience guides her approach today as she focuses on small details that help residents feel comfortable, valued, and understood.
A Presence that Residents Know and Trust
Becky’s dedication goes far beyond coordinating care plans. She takes the time to remember each resident’s name, personal story, and preferences — those special details that help everyone feel truly valued. Her caring approach has earned the trust of residents, families, and our entire team.
“I’ve made so many wonderful memories here,” Becky said. “Some of my favorites are the small moments that stay with you long after the day ends. When residents greet me after the weekend and say, ‘I missed you,’ it melts my heart. That award reflected the trust and love my residents and their families share with me every day.”
Executive Director Nichol Wesson has seen firsthand how Becky’s leadership touches the entire community. Nichol shared, “Becky has a way of making everyone feel seen. She doesn’t just manage care; she remembers names, stories, and the little things that matter most. You can feel the difference when she walks into a room.”
