Midlothian Seniors Trade Routines for Aprons to Help Neighbors

Making a Difference Beyond the Community Walls

Residents of Legacy Oaks of Midlothian spent their day taking their support beyond the community’s walls, trading their usual routines for aprons and serving trays as they handed out meals to neighbors in need at the Dallas Life Foundation. From the kitchen to the dining area, residents worked side by side, making sure every plate reached a neighbor experiencing homelessness.

Why Service Matters

Our residents gain something valuable when they give back to their community. Serving meals gives them a chance to stay active and involved while meeting new people and building friendships. Spending time together on projects like this helps our residents create bonds that extend beyond a single day of service.

“Seeing our residents step in and lend a hand reminds me why this work matters,” said Justin Anderson, Executive Director of Legacy Oaks of Midlothian. “A meal can turn a day around, and being able to share that moment makes it worthwhile for everyone involved.”
