Civitas Senior Living Sailed the Seas of The Western Caribbean

Civitas Senior Living recently hosted a once-in-a-lifetime cruise that included its team members and residents. Jane Randolph, VP of Resident Engagement, helped plan the amazing trip for a group of lucky seniors and their family members from three communities in Texas:

The group spent six days and five nights visiting ports in the Caribbean and Mexico, and what a wonderful time they had!

A Sun-Drenched Senior Vacation

Originally planned to take place before the pandemic, this fun cruise for the seniors was temporarily on hold until this year. It was open to Civitas Senior Living residents and family members who were available and interested. A total of 30 people were in the group, and the ship visited the Caribbean, Cozumel, and Costa Maya.

A group of 30 like-minded family members and friends rarely get to go on vacations together, but Civitas Senior Living made it happen. Everyone was free to take their meals and attend activities in groups or independently. As expected, the time went by quickly and went off without a hitch!

Highlights from Our Cruise

Civitas Senior Living loves crafting magical moments for residents, and this cruise was the cherry on top of a wonderful year. Here are some of the highlights from our 2023 trip:

  • Delicious dinners
  • Breathtaking views
  • We celebrated a resident’s birthday
  • A resident met a former Denver Broncos player (she’s a big fan), and he promised to send her memorabilia after the trip
  • Tons of activities, including line dancing, visits to the onboard casino, and playing games on the deck

Cruises are Enriching Experiences

Civitas Senior Living | Senior couple on a cruise shipWell-planned cruises offer significant benefits for residents. The carefully curated environment of a cruise ship ensures a secure, comfortable setting, allowing them to explore new destinations without concerns. Cruises also allow seniors to engage in fun and relaxing activities. The onboard entertainment and shore excursions foster social interaction and mental stimulation.

The vacations for seniors we organize are stress-free and enjoyable, creating lasting memories and strong friendships; there’s a real sense of fulfillment and joy. In essence, a cruise vacation becomes a holistic experience for seniors, combining relaxation, adventure, and social connection in a secure, welcoming environment.
