At The Brooks of Cibolo, one group of residents proved that yesterday’s trash can become today’s treasure. The Art Throbs Club, an art group made up of creative seniors, spent this week painting flowers using recycled plastic bags.
Residents arranged the materials in different ways, experimented with colors, and added texture to their designs. Each painting offered a unique take on a flower, showing how ordinary items can be transformed with creativity. Their works of art brought new life to disposable plastic bags.
What better way to showcase their creativity than to have their creations featured on KENS 5 News? The anchors admired their work and out-of-the-box thinking.
“Projects like this give residents a chance to explore materials in new ways and see what they can create,” said Jim Duggins, Executive Director of The Brooks of Cibolo. “They also support mental sharpness and social connection, keeping seniors engaged and interacting with one another.”
