Tyler Senior Goes For a Ride with Local Motorcycle Group

The Hamptons of Tyler recently helped resident Barbara K. celebrate a very meaningful, “Miracle Moment.”

A motorcyclist for over 20 years, Barbara rode a Yamaha and owned six different bikes. “For her Miracle Moment, we helped her get together with members of the Longriders of Tyler Texas,” shares Robyn Hood, the Hamptons’ Independent Living Activity Director.

The LongRiders of Tyler Texas is a family-oriented riding club, established in 1986, with the purpose of giving motorcyclists a better reputation by focusing on the local community’s needs.

“Barbara had a blast riding behind them and getting to meet everyone. She had a huge smile on her face!” says Robyn. “We appreciate these wonderful riders for making the trip out to surprise her and making this day so special for her.”

Baraba suffered from a fall earlier this year and wasn’t able to join in on her usual daily activities. To help lift her spirits, The Hamptons of Tyler waited until she was cleared by her physical therapist to come out and enjoy the day without her wheelchair.

“We surprised her while she was playing bingo. She didn’t know what was going on, but all of her fellow bingo players knew about the surprise so they kept her occupied.”
